What is vinous cider?

Vinous Ciders are cider & wine blends that bring together the refreshing crispness of apple ciders with the depth and nuance of wines. It’s a trend that’s happening in regions across North America where there’s side-by-side apple and wine grape growing production.

In Nova Scotia, we’re uniquely set up to truly excel in this niche. Our terroir, especially in the Annapolis Valley and surrounding areas, produces exemplary fruit. Our apples exhibit amazing aromatics and our wines are renowned for their bright acidity and complexity.

By blending our crisp ciders with our lively wines, we create something that is wholly unique and special all on its own. Something that is separate from either a cider or a wine and can hold their own as they stand along beside them. It’s an exploration of new aromatics and flavour profiles that can only be created through combining.

At Beausoleil, our focus is on vinous ciders and we are incredibly proud to be exploring this new category and producing something that is uniquely Nova Scotian. We are Nova Scotia’s first Vinous Cidery.
